In addition to English (language of instruction), SNIS offers ESL, Hindi, French, Spanish and Kannada.
English as a Second Language
SNIS takes pride in hosting students from different backgrounds and nationalities. We celebrate diversity and individuality of each child. We have dedicated staff who cater to the requirements of our students needing ESL support. ESL programme at SNIS uses a combination of support sessions and mainstreaming with the goal of advancing these students into regular classes as soon as possible. An individual learning plan is developed for each student to support English language acquisition. Our students listen, speak, read, write and learn English in a near-native environment. All our teachers are language trainers and help our students in learning English within a context, thereby achieving excellence in English.
SNIS hosts ESL camps for students from non-English speaking countries during the months of October and April of every year. The one-month camps focus on providing ESL classes to students in fun and innovative ways, which makes learning English an exciting prospect. Students learn English by exploring various themes such as festivals, culture, technology, mass media etc. using real-world examples and hands-on activities in addition to classroom teaching.
