IS TRANSPORT PROVIDED AND TILL WHAT DISTANCE?

Yes, transport is available for all areas up to a radius of 50 km from the school campus. All our buses are fitted with GPS, CCTV, and speed governors to ensure the safety of students. However, transportation is optional.

WHAT SECURITY MEASURES ARE USED ON THE CAMPUS?

As one of the best international schools in Bangalore, SNIS has a zero-tolerance policy regarding discrepancies/shortcomings in the safety and security of people on the School campus and transport facilities.

  • The CCTV Surveillance Centre monitors the activities and movements on campus round-the-clock
  • Trained and watchful security guards are placed across the campus
  • All school staff including teachers, drivers, conductors, caregivers, and maids are recruited after a three-stage verification and reference check process
  • Strict security protocols and drills are followed on all occasions, including during events and outdoor visits
  • Regular fire and emergency drills are held
  • All employees are trained about POCSO guidelines and students are also given sessions about their safety on a regular basis.
  • The entire perimeter of the campus is protected by high walls, as well as guards

WHAT MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED FOR THE STUDENTS?

The School has qualified, full-time (24/7) nurses and a doctor on call. The school has a well-equipped infirmary to take care of children who are unwell. The caregivers will assist the child and in case of emergencies, parents are contacted by the class teacher or the coordinator to be taken home or asked for permission to do the needful. No medication will be given to students without approval from parents or guardians under any circumstance.

WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION?
      • Aadhar Card ( for Indian Nationals )
      • Student birth certificate copy
      • Six recent passport size photos of student
      • Recent passport size photos of both parents and guardian
      • Original transfer certificate from the previous school (if applicable)

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL/FOREIGN STUDENTS

WHAT IS THE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS TO STUDY AT SNIS, BANGALORE?
      • International / foreign students who are seeking admission to study at SNIS, one of the leading IB and IGCSE Schools in Bangalore, are required to possess a confirmed letter of Placement duly signed by the Head of School/Principal on a school letter head.
      • They must possess a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the duration of the academic programme for which they are applying.
      • It is mandatory to possess a Student visa to pursue your studies in India.
CAN I TRAVEL TO INDIA ON A TOURIST VISA AND GET THE VISA CONVERTED TO A STUDENT VISA WHILE IN INDIA?

According to the government regulations, if an international student coming to India on a Tourist or any other type of visa except a Student visa obtains admission into any educational institution in India, the student will be required to return to his/her home country and obtain a new visa which is the Student Visa from the Indian embassy there.

HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO PROCESS THE STUDENT VISA?

Generally, it takes 6-8 weeks to process a Student Visa. You are advised to contact the Indian High Commission in your home country and they will inform you of the time required for processing your Student visa.

CAN I GET A VISA IF I DO NOT HAVE A CONFIRMED LETTER OF PLACEMENT/ADMISSION LETTER?

You can get a Provisional Student visa which is valid for 3 months only from the Indian embassy in your home country on the basis of a provisional letter of admission from SNIS, Bangalore. If your admission is not confirmed within these three months, you will have to leave India as no extension of a Provisional Student visa is permitted.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I REQUIRE TO FURNISH FOR THE STUDENT VISA EXTENSION?

The following documents are required for an extension:

  1. A duly completed visa extension form.
  2. One recent passport-size photograph.
  3. Bonafide certificate duly signed by the Head of School on school letterhead stating the duration and name of the programs/course undertaken for study at SNIS, Bangalore.
  4. Copy of passport/visa / Registration Book.
  5. Proof of residence.
DOES SNIS SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WITH FRRO REGISTRATION PROCESS?

International students holding Student visa of more than 180 days are required to register themselves with the local Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival. SNIS provides its international students with the necessary paperwork, support, and guidance for the FRRO registration/renewal process.

HOW MUCH AMOUNT IS CHARGED AS VISA FEES?

The Student visa fees depend on the nationality of the passport holder and the duration of visa applied. The visa fees are payable in the local currency as well. Please check with the Indian High Commission/Embassy in your home country for exact visa fees charges.
