18 Apr Unity in Diversity
Hello! Ola! Bonjour! I am Aditri Chakraborty, studying in Grade 4 at Sharanya Narayani International School, one of the best international schools in Bangalore, that is ranked among the top 10 International Day and Boarding Schools in India by Education World, 2022-23. I would like to share my thoughts on culture, and diversity in my blog. Cultural unity in diversity signifies the intangible rope that binds all of us together irrespective of our diversity, caste, creed, religion, and nationality. It is a beautiful bouquet of diverse flowers arranged wonderfully.
In the same context, we, the students of Sharanya Narayani International School, one of the best IB schools in Bangalore, get the flavor of unity in diversity since students from various countries representing their diverse cultures study together and share their values, traditions, and beliefs at SNIS. This specialty helps us in becoming global citizens.
Not only people from dissimilar countries come but also from separate regions in India study at Sharanya Narayani International School, one the best boarding schools in Bangalore. Our school shows diversity by encouraging us to study our home language classes every Thursday, which we very much look forward to. Our school also holds diverse cultural performances for us to participate in and spread awareness of others’ thoughts, traditions, beliefs, and values to perform as a whole, binding us together. In our grade 4 exhibition, we represented French culture, beliefs, food habits, etc., by trying different foods like croissants and macarons and dancing to their music. In our academic curriculum, I personally feel we show diversity by learning a foreign language. We also get united in our sports section, which encourages us to participate in sports events and exposes us to healthy competition without animosity.
As our school does, if the entire world walks on the path of unity in diversity then most of the wars could be avoided because people would be more tolerant, and have respect towards others. The Russia and Ukraine war is damaging a lot, if not addressed now we might be on the verge of a world war. Instead, even now they could find a resolution to stop it and be united in diverse ways, which might stop future wars, and be peaceful.
India as a nation stands for Unity in Diversity, we believe in “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and that the entire world is my family, we all stand together.
Finally, in conclusion, the action I will take is to explain to people about unity in diversity in various ways. We could explain to people the importance of unity in diversity of customs, regions, traditions festival monuments, through performances like talking singing, dancing, and acting, That way we’ll know more about each other’s perspective and act accordingly.
Now I will tell what learner profile and skill I developed while writing this blog.
● The learner profile we developed is Knowledgeable, by using brains, and communication, and by asking my parents about Unity in diversity.
● We developed research skills by googling were Principled by doing it on time.
