Grades 6-8 MYP GOLF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM

This program is for students who want to pursue an international education alongside intensive golf training to be able to build a career either in golf or academics, whether in India or through college golf in a different country.

 

This is the first of its kind in India, where a school and a golf academy take the initiative to run a topnotch golf program for its students. Both Sharanya Narayani International School (SNIS) and TSG Academy believe that it is a great way to learn life lessons from sport when the approach is structured, personalized and provides information of the highest quality.

ABOUT TSG ACADEMY

TSG Academy is India’s first and only residential, high performance golf academy in the country, based at the beautiful Zion Hills Golf County in Kolar, India, a 40-minute drive from the SNIS campus in Bangalore. The organization is passionate and goal oriented with a razor-sharp focus on holistic growth built on a solid foundation for young golfers to grow into excellent professional golfers.

TSG Academy has already established a strong reputation of excellence with the 2021 National Amateur and Junior champions being students of TSG. It has a strong alumnus with the youngest Indian winning an Asian Tour event in 2018, and India’s representative to the Olympics 2020, both being students of Mr. Tarun Sardesai, the Director of Instruction and Founder of TSG Academy.

IB MIDDLE YEARS PROGRAM AT SNIS FOR GOLF EXCELLENCE
(GRADES 6 TO 8)
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
  • This program is for children in middle school (grade 6-8) who are enrolled in SNIS as boarders
  • For golfers who want to continue playing alongside their academics and take their game to the next level
  • For students who have a dream of taking up the sport as a profession
LOGISTICS OF THE PROGRAM
  • 3 days a week, the SNIS boarders will travel to TSG Academy for intensive training
    • 15 hours per week
    • Approximately 600 hours annually
  • The remaining 4 days will be spent at school focussing on academics
    • Students will have a special curriculum where academic lessons will be taught as per the individual needs keeping in mind the shared focus on golf
  • For all days of the week, students will stay on the SNIS campus
  • Performance related fitness will be integral to their golf training
    • From Monday to Thursday, students will have fitness training at the SNIS campus as mandated by the TSG Sports Science team
    • When at TSG, they will have an additional 1-2 hours of fitness as required with the experts from our department
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
  • Intensive golf training along with golf specific fitness
  • Focus on effective practice and performance training
  • Building the players performance to be able to transition to the National circuit
  • Training the players on the nuances of being an elite athlete
  • Will have the opportunity to play competitive rounds with the Academy
EXTRAS
  • Students can opt to stay for longer periods at TSG Academy during their school vacation time at an extra cost for stay, food
