10 Mar The True learning
‘True learning’ is not just confined to textbooks, examinations and grades/marks in the semester end report cards and it goes far beyond the four walls of a classroom. While academic excellence remains important, the skills focussed and enhanced at SNIS build character, strengthen resilience, and prepare our students to face the challenges of 21st century in order to navigate the real world with potential, confidence and integrity.
When you glance through this newsletter, you will see the images/pictures taken during various events conducted at SNIS in the first semester, like Service projects, Sportivo, Investiture ceremony, SNIS-MUN, MERAKI etc. These are the opportunities provided for the students to strive hard to nurture the skills which can inculcate the qualities in our students such as empathy, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, adaptability, and critical thinking to build character and strengthen resilience. These skills are not taught through lessons alone — they are experienced outside the classrooms through the co-curricular events within our school community and beyond.
When students participated in service projects, they have learnt to collaborate, cooperate and respect the views of others. When they engaged in sports, during the Sportivo event conducted, they have experienced the meaning of discipline, teamwork, leadership and perseverance. They have learnt to present their ideas, they developed confidence and communication skills when we hosted the SNIS-MUN conference last semester. Though they have not hit the target of hundred percent perfection during these events, they have learnt to reflect and to build strong foundations for life.
In today’s rapidly changing world, excelling in any field is no longer defined solely by the knowledge one gathers, but the ability to apply that knowledge wisely, ethically, and compassionately. At SNIS the students have been continuously supported and guided to become not just high academic achievers, but responsible global citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the society. This vision will be realized in the coming years as every one of us continues to recognize the fact that the lessons learned beyond the classrooms often become the most valuable lessons of all!
With this understanding, let us all go beyond our comfort zones of the known, to explore the horizons of the unknown to bring more meaning and vitality to life!!!
