The IB MYP is a five-year programme offered for students aged 11 to 16 in grades 6 to 10. It encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world and develops life skills. It emphasizes intellectual challenge and provides broad and balanced curriculum.
In 1994, IB adopted the MYP as a flexible curriculum framework that promoted the fundamental concepts of intercultural under-standing, communication and holistic learning.

IB MYP curriculum consists of eight subject groups, along with Personal project and Service as action project. Students learn subjects through the lens of concepts and six global contexts.
IB MYP Subject Groups
Students also complete an Interdisciplinary Unit that involves at least two subject groups, and Service as Action project.
In grade 10, students complete exciting research for Personal project and submit the process report.
Students of grade 6 to 8 will undertake study of all the 8 subject groups listed below.
One interdisciplinary unit will be completed every year in all grade levels. Service as action projects will come from units. We also offer Information Literacy, Kannada, Music and Dance.
Based on student’s aptitude, interest and career goals, students pick at least one subject from each of the subject groups – Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences and Mathematics. Students are also expected to pick at least one subject from Arts, Physical & Health Education and Design. One interdisciplinary unit will be completed every year in all grade levels. Students are guided in the subject selections by teachers and the college counsellor.
Service as action projects will be done as a part of units. Students will complete a Personal project in grade 10. We also offer Information Literacy, Kannada, Music and Dance.
Personal Project: Students explore an area that motivates and interests them. Students set their own goal and choose how to achieve it. Students create their own articulation of what success will look like. Students demonstrate and develop ATL skills. Students reflect on the impact that the personal project has had on themselves and/or their community.
All MYP students in schools in the fifth year of the programme demonstrate consolidation of their learning through completion of a personal project. Students are expected to spend a minimum of 25 hours on their personal project and document their process. Students will submit a report for personal project in the form of written or combination of written and spoken.
In the final year of the programme, optional MYP eAssessment provides IB-validated grades based on examinations and course work. MYP eAssessment offers students opportunities to demonstrate disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding, international-mindedness, critical and creative thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to apply knowledge in unfamiliar situations. On-screen examinations and ePortfolios provide a balanced model of assessment for schools seeking IB-validated grades. Official IB recognition of achievement in the MYP is only available for students who participate in and successfully complete the required eAssessments.
Although MYP eAssessments are optional, it is highly recommended that all students who might opt to pursue undergraduate courses in India should take the eAssessment.
