12 Feb Bhagavad Gita – A Guide for Life
Bhagavad Gita is a magical guide for human life. It is a holy book and a part of the Mahabharata. The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna.
There was a big fight between the five brothers called the Pandavas and their hundred cousins, the Kauravas. They were fighting for the kingdom. Arjuna became confused and worried. He did not want to fight because he did not want to hurt his own people. This shows that Arjuna was caring, and at SNIS we learn to be caring towards others.
Lord Krishna teaches Arjuna how to be brave and how to do his duty. Krishna explains that true happiness comes from doing our work honestly. This lesson teaches us to be principled, which means doing the right thing even when it is hard. At SNIS, we try to be principled learners.
Doing kind and good deeds makes people wise, happy, and fearless. The Gita also teaches us to stay calm in difficult situations. This helps us become open-minded, as we learn to think clearly and understand different situations. At SNIS, we are encouraged to be open-minded learners.
My favourite lesson from the Bhagavad Gita is that we should always help people when they are in trouble. Good deeds bring happiness and help us improve. Whatever we do, we should do it with all our heart. With Krishna’s teachings, Arjuna became stronger and wiser.
The IB Learner Profile that is taught to us at SNIS, one of the best international schools in Bangalore, embodies the values that the Gita teaches making it easier for us to understand and apply in our day to day lives.
When we buy a phone, we get a manual that tells us how to use it. In the same way, the Bhagavad Gita is like a life manual. It teaches us to do good deeds without expecting rewards. The Gita and the IB Learner profile help us grow as caring, open-minded, and principled individuals.
