Panel Discussion

Panel Discussion

This week, students at Sharanya Narayani International School (SNIS), an IB Continuum School and one of the best international schools in Bangalore, got an incredible opportunity to connect directly with representatives from some of New York State’s top universities – the University at Buffalo, Stony Brook University, Fordham University, Syracuse University, Clarkson University, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).

The session began with a lively panel discussion where university representatives explained how the US education system works, the flexibility of choosing or even changing your major on campus, and the key aspects of applications. They shared insights on scholarships, internships, and campus life, while also giving practical advice on how students from an IB school in India can make their applications stand out.

What made the interaction especially valuable was how approachable and honest the representatives were. Instead of focusing only on rankings and admission requirements, they offered guidance on using college resources, adjusting to a new culture, and finding your place within a large university community.

Following the panel, each university spent time with students in smaller groups, answering individual questions. Topics such as financial aid, research opportunities, and career pathways were discussed in detail, giving students from this international school in Bangalore personalized guidance.

By the end of the day, many IB Diploma Programme students at SNIS said they felt more confident about their options for studying in the US. The session gave them a clear sense of what life could look like at these universities and highlighted the many global pathways available after high school.
