My boarding life at SNIS

My boarding life at SNIS

Hello everybody ! I am Deepika and I’m studying in one of the best boarding schools in Bangalore, Sharanya Narayani International School(SNIS). I will be talking about a day in my boarding life at my school SNIS.

I love my school. It has a vast playground blanketed in lush green grass. We have to wake up at 5:30AM as our day starts with morning activities like running, basketball or Yoga. Starting the day with physical activity not only energises our body but also sharpens our focus. It helps us develop discipline, time management and teamwork.

I love the time I spend with my friends in the hostel room while getting ready for school. My roommates and I have friendly banter or squabble about who gets first in the shower. While I comb my hair, I like to hum the school song which makes me feel proud to be an SNIS student.

Breakfast is always yummy. I like the spread in the cafeteria, especially the continental dishes like danish, waffles and pancakes. All the morning workouts leave me really hungry, and I end up devouring my food quickly.

We begin our day with circle time, where we reflect on the previous day or engage in discussions about discipline and moral values. Our school has also integrated fun activities like Art, Music, and Dance into the curriculum, which keeps our day engaging and helps break the monotony of regular studies.

Lunch dishes are always delicious, especially the days when they make pasta. We are served a variety of dishes from salads to sweets.

When school ends at 3:15PM, all the boarding students attend the evening sports. We are open to play any sport of our choice like swimming, basketball, volleyball, throwball, badminton and tennis. I usually choose basketball and tennis and I enjoy my time in the field with my friends. Later, we get ready for prep when we get time to reflect on our day’s learning and do our homework. Soon it’s time for dinner when we enjoy a hearty meal with a variety of tasty dishes that keep us well-fed.

Between dinner and bedtime, some of us gather around for small talks, share stories of the day or joke around. Others take time to read or chat with parents twice a week. As the day winds down, we continue our stories in whispers with our roommates while we snuggle under our blankets. I always dream about being in a garden full of flowers and nature. We doze off into a peaceful sleep recharging for a great new day ahead.

In a nutshell, my school SNIS is the best boarding school and I love it to the core!
