SNIS is located in the outskirts of Bangalore near Hoskote with convenient access via the newly developed 4 lane NH-4 (Old Madras Road). We are:

Who are the founders of SNIS?

SNIS is managed by a not-for-profit charitable Trust – Narayani Group of Educational Institutions. The trustees are a dedicated group of professionals with diverse backgrounds and a deep commitment to excellence in education. They vow to impart education of the highest standard and establish SNIS as the place where children achieve all-round growth and excellence.

What are the academic programs offered at SNIS?

SNIS offers internationally benchmarked academic programs.

Why are we offering internationally benchmarked programs?

SNIS management has deliberately planned to offer internationally recognized academic programs so that its students have the access to all universities around the world and have the opportunity to be world leaders equipped with 21st century life skills.

Is academics, sports and music given equal importance?

At SNIS, we firmly believe that holistic development of the child is achieved by emphasizing co-curricular programs such as fine and practical arts, performing arts, sports, games and community service alongside academics. SNIS also encourages students to be creative and independent thinkers through its THOTS Lab initiative.

What is the student/teacher ratio?

We strictly restrict the class size to a max of 24 students only. From Nursery to Grade 2, students have two teachers (1 class teacher and 1 assistant teacher).

In Middle school the ratio is also maximum 24 students per class. In Senior School, depending on subject choices the student teacher ratio is
between 24:1 to even 5:1 ensuring individualised attention and guidance.

Does SNIS provide additional help for students for special educational needs?

We understand that students are all individuals who have diverse needs and all students regardless of their strengths and weaknesses in any area, are a part of the school community. We provide additional support to those who may need special assistance in ways that are appropriate to their needs. At SNIS we strongly believe that every child has a right to learn.

Does SNIS have any provision for gifted children?

Yes, gifted children who pull ahead of their peers will be supported and challenged so that they meet their potential.

SNIS is a 14 acre, construction free and safe campus with residential facilities for boys and girls. The campus is completely ready.

Is transport provided and till what distance?

Yes, transport is available for all areas up to a radius of 50 kms from the school campus. All our buses are fitted with GPS, CCTV, and speed governors to ensure safety of students. However, transportation is optional.

What security measures are used in the campus?

SNIS has a zero tolerance policy regarding discrepancies/shortcomings in the safety and security of people on School campus and transport facilities.

  • The CCTV Surveillance Centre monitors the activities and movements on campus round-the-clock
  • Trained and watchful security guards are placed across the campus
  • All School staff including teachers, drivers, conductors, care givers and maids are recruited after a three stage verification and reference check process
  • Strict security protocols and drills are followed on all occasions, including during events and outdoor visits
  • Regular fire and emergency drills are held
  • All employees trained by Sakra Hospital for emergencies
  • The entire perimeter of the campus is protected by high walls, as well as guards
  • Solar powered street lights all around the campus provide ample lighting during the nights
  • Students are not allowed to leave the premises without an Out Pass or authorized personnel
  • Every member of the School staff will compulsorily identify themselves with School ID cards and Biometric impression for entry inside campus building
  • Female attendants in all buses
  • All buses are fitted with GPS, CCTV cameras, and speed governors to ensure student safety
What medical assistance is provided for the students?

The School has a qualified full-time (24/7) Nurse and a doctor on call. The school has a well equipped infirmary to take care of children who are unwell. The care givers will assist the child and in case of emergencies, parents are contacted by the class teacher or the coordinator to be taken home or asked for permission to do the needful. No medication will be given to students without approval from parents or guardians under any circumstance.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Do students have uniforms?

Yes, uniforms will be provided to all students. Color dress will be worn as and when required.

What is the school environment like?

SNIS is a campus for students of all nationalities; therefore, a secular culture will be inculcated in all students and staff. We have a stress-free environment to ensure creative learning and independent thinking in students. SNIS has an eco-friendly safe secure green campus to ensure student health and welfare.

SNIS also has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to any form of physical, emotional or psychological abuse and on the use/ possession of drugs and weapons on campus.

What is the parents’ involvement in the child’s life at SNIS?

We believe that parents are partners with the school and student learning is enhanced when parents actively engage with the school. The school is an open community of learners, and the parents are welcomed to interact with the teachers and school authorities through any of the various forums outlined below.

What is the homework policy?

Homework is used as a skill building tool and homework for the sake of it is not encouraged. Students are given relevant and adequate homework to reinforce what has been taught in the classrooms. For further information, parents can refer to the student handbook.

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL/FOREIGN STUDENTS

What is the mandatory requirement for foreign students to study at SNIS, Bangalore?
  • International / foreign students who are seeking admission to study at SNIS, one of the leading IB and IGCSE Schools in Bangalore, are required to possess a confirmed letter of Placement duly signed by the Head of School/Principal on a school letter head.
  • They must possess a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the duration of the academic programme for which they are applying.
  • It is mandatory to possess a Student visa to pursue your studies in India.
Can I travel to India on a Tourist visa and get the visa converted to Student visa while in India?

According to the government regulations, if an international student coming to India on a Tourist or any other type of visa except a Student visa obtains admission into any educational institution in India, the student will be required to return to his/her home country and obtain a new visa which is the Student visa from the Indian mission there.

From where can I obtain a Student visa?

Student visas can be availed from the Indian High Commission in your home country.

How much time does it take to process the Student visa?

Normally, it takes 6-8 weeks to process a Student visa. You are advised to contact the Indian High Commission in your home country and they will inform you of the time required for processing of your Student visa.

Can I get a visa if I do not have a confirmed letter of placement/admission letter?

You can get a Provisional Student visa which is valid for 3 months only from the Indian Mission in your home country on the basis of a provisional letter of admission from SNIS, Bangalore. If your admission is not confirmed within these three months, you will have to leave India as no extension of Provisional Student visa is permitted.

How much amount is charged as visa fees?

The Student visa fees depend on the nationality of the passport holder and duration of visa applied. The visa fees are payable in the local currency as well. Please check with the Indian High Commission/embassy in your home country for exact visa fees charges.

What are the requirements for international students on arrival in India?

International students holding Student visa of more than 180 days are required to register themselves with the local Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival.

How can I get an extension of my student visa?

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is vested with the powers of visa extensions in India. Foreigners can approach the Foreigners Division, MHA, Lok Nayak Bhawan, Khan Market, New Delhi between 10 AM to 12 AM on all working days (Monday to Friday). Contact No: 011-26711384.

What documents do I require to furnish for the Student visa extension?

The following documents are required for an extension:

  1. A duly completed visa extension form.
  2. 1 recent passport size photograph.
  3. Bona fide certificate duly signed by the Head of School on school letter head stating the duration and name of the programs / course undertaken for study at SNIS, Bangalore.
  4. Copy of passport / visa / Registration Book.
  5. Proof of residence.
